BMW M2: full of muscle and even more powerful

MUSCLES AT WILL, BUT ONLY WHERE THEY ARE NEEDED – As often happens with super sports models, there are numerous aesthetic changes that distinguish the new one BMW M2 from the coupe from which it derives. But this time the designers of the Bavarian house have really “exaggerated”, giving a dose of extra muscle that gives the car an important presence on the road, also emphasized by the large alloy wheels of different sizes (19 inches in front, 20 inches behind) and matching , on request, with racing tires. Every single intervention on the bodywork is the result of in-depth studies to improve the entry and flow of air exactly where it is needed, or to help cool the mechanical parts subjected to greater thermal stress, as well as to improve efficiency aerodynamics. Here are some features with a strong aesthetic impact, such as the three large and squared openings on the front bumper, the “lip” spoiler in the tail, the large rear diffuser from which the two pairs of tailpipes come out or, again, the lower part of the hips very flared.

MOUNT THE M3 ENGINE – The more athletic bodywork, with sharper and more marked surfaces but also far fewer frills than all the other versions of the 2 Series Coupé (for example, the chromed frame that adorns the double kidney grille has disappeared), goes hand in hand with mechanics with a clear racing imprint. If the rear-wheel Drivethan on the new one BMW M2 it is combined as standard with the active M differential, it is a trademark that enthusiasts take for granted, the 90 HP more than the previous generation model are in the news. SUPER PERFORMANCE – Approaching the red area of ​​the rev counter, set at 7200 rpm, the manufacturer promises for the new BMW M2 exceptional performance, with a sprint from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.1 seconds for the version with the automatic gearbox M Steptronic with eight gears and just two tenths of a second more with the manual transmission six-speed, which BMW wanted to keep in order not to disappoint the expectations of old-school customers. The declared maximum speed is 250 km / h, but by requesting a special package it will be possible to move the intervention threshold of the electronic limiter to 285 km / h.
