Written by aquitodovale

A slice of the market that is already very crowded is that of mid-sized electric crossovers, who will have to fight for a still small number of customers in Italy. Suffice it to say that in the first six months of 2022 only 25,082 electric cars were sold, out of a total of 684,228 new cars registered. But the manufacturers are now launched in the transformation process and are creating ranges parallel to those with thermal engines. And that of the medium is one of the segments that has seen the greatest commitment by car manufacturers. The two latest contenders in chronological order are the Toyota bZ4X and the Nissan Ariya, which are waiting for the already established Volkswagen ID.4, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, Ford Mustang Mach-E and Skoda Enyaq iV.

There Toyota bZ4X is a crossover 469 long, 186 wide and 165 cm high, will arrive in Italy from September with a price list that will start from around 50,000 euros, for the front-wheel drive version with 204 HP in the “basic” version and 3,000 euros more for the versions 4×4 with 218 hp. In both the maximum speed is 160 km / h, while the sprint from 0 to 100 km / h is 8.4 seconds for the first and 7.7 for the second. The lithium-ion battery of the Toyota bZ4X is integrated into the floor of the platform, has a capacity of 71.4 kWh, and ensures a range that varies from 516 to 470 km, respectively for two-wheel drive and for 4×4. The space inside is abundant and the load capacity is 452 liters. To keep consumption at bay, it is equipped with a heating system with a heat pump. The battery can be quickly recharged from 0 to 80% in about 30 minutes with the 150 kW columns (CCS2) or, alternatively, the 11 kW three-phase on-board charger can be used.
