In strong rise the major indices of the Italian Stock Exchange and the main European financial markets in the last session of the week. Borsa Italiana remained under pressure following the political tensions which led Prime Minister Mario Draghi to resign (rejected by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella). Meanwhile, today it was day of technical deadlines; the option contracts on shares and indices dated July 2022 have expired.
The FTSEMib gained 1.84% to 20,933 points, after having fluctuated between a minimum of 20,469 points and a maximum of 20,977 points; however, the main index of the Italian Stock Exchange ended the week with a decline of 3.86%. The FTSE Italia All Share it recorded an increase of 1.8%. Plus sign for the FTSE Italia Mid Cap (+ 1.66%) and for the FTSE Italia Star (+ 1.9%). In the session of 15 July 2022, the turnover fell to 1.86 billion euros, compared to 2.17 billion on Thursday.
The BTP-Bund spread it returned to over 220 points, after the yield on the Italian bond with a 10-year maturity reached 3.4%.
At 17.35 on bitcoin it was back below 21,000 dollars (just under 20,500 euros).
L’EUR touched $ 1.01.
Saipem it dropped 29.9% to 0.82 euros. The engineering company announced that the underwriting syndicate has subscribed to the 584,726,520 newly issued shares, which were not subscribed following the option offer and the stock exchange offer. Consequently, the Saipem capital increase was fully subscribed for a total value of € 2 billion. BNP Paribas, Citigroup, Deutsche Bank, HSBC, UniCredit (+ 0.89%), ABN AMRO, Barclays and Stifel signed an agreement aimed at the orderly placement on the market of 396,425,617 shares equal to approximately 67.8% of the total number of shares not subscribed by investors.

ACEA (the European association that groups automobile manufacturers) announced that in June 2022 886,510 cars were registered in the European Union, down by 15.4% compared to 1.05 million in the same period of 2021. Stellantis sales also fell sharply in June 2022: last month the automotive group recorded a drop in registrations of 17% with 190,863 cars sold; as a result, Stellantis’ market share in Europe stood at 21.5%.
Telecom Italia TIM (-3.42%) recorded one of the worst performances of the day at the FTSEMib.
RcsMediagroup recorded a jump of 15.1% to 0.702 euros. The publishing company announced the settlement of the dispute concerning the sale to Kryalos in 2013 of the real estate complex located in Milan, via Solferino / Via San Marco / Via Balzan. In particular, RcsMediagroup will purchase, at a price of 59.9 million euros, the building in Via Solferino, the historic headquarters of Corriere della Sera, part of the property complex which is the subject of the dispute. In addition, the publishing company has agreed to pay a contribution of 10 million euros to the expenses incurred by Blackstone.
