Securities in the banking sector recovered. Negative closing, however, for Saipem. Enel also closed in the red, following the detachment of the dividend balance.

The major indices of the Italian Stock Exchange and the main European financial markets they closed the first session of the week in positive territory. According to Pierre Veyret – technical analyst at ActivTrades – the increase in optimistic sentiment would have been caused by the rumors that the ECB will unveil a new unlimited bond purchase program to help the markets cope with the new round of monetary tightening also coming in the Old World.

The FTSEMib it recorded an increase of 1.13% to 21,169 points, after having fluctuated between a low of 20,931 points and a high of 21,294 points. Even the FTSE Italia All Share gained 1.13%. Securities in the banking sector recovered. The rises in the BancoBPM (+ 3.15%), of Mediobanca (+ 2.42%) and of Intesa Sanpaolo (+ 2.57%).

Strong progress too UniCredit (+ 1.66% to € 8.717). The institute led by Andrea Orcel provided the usual update on the analysts’ consensus estimates for the 2nd quarter of 2022. According to the consensus of the investment banks, UniCredit should have closed the period in question with a net profit of 908 million. euro (median value); the estimate is compared with the underlying net profit of 1.1 billion euro recognized in the same period of the previous year (net book profit of 1.03 billion). The brokerage margin is expected to be 4.49 billion euros (median value), a slight increase compared to the 4.4 billion in the 2nd quarter of 2021; net operating income is estimated at 1.55 billion euro, after write-downs on loans for 535 million euro. CET1 is indicated at 14.2%.

Focus on oil sector stocksafter the price of crude oil in New York (contract expiring in August 2022) jumped above 101.5 dollars a barrel.

Saipem remained in the spotlight, after the thud suffered last week. The title left 7.07% on the ground to 0.762 euros.

In reverse, ENI And Tenaris they gained 1.62% and 4.06% respectively.

Is in the recorded a decrease of 1.82% to 4.909 euros. The electric giant has detached the balance of the 2022 dividend (relating to the 2021 financial year), for an amount of 0.19 euros.

Stellantis it gained 2.49% to 12,254 euros. The auto giant has announced the decision to negotiate the termination of the joint venture in China with the GAC Group. The two companies will proceed to the orderly cessation of local Jeep production, while Stellantis will recognize a non-monetary impairment charge of approximately € 297 million in the results for the first half of 2022.

Positive closing also for Prysmian (+ 1.76% to € 26.59). The company has announced that it has been awarded two contracts worth approximately 250 million euros for the development of two projects: a submarine interconnection for the transmission of energy between the islands of Tenerife and La Gomera and another submarine interconnection between the Spanish hinterland and Ceuta (Spanish city on the North African coast).

To the STAR segment Landi Renzo it lost 3.12% to € 0.558, on the day the capital increase of almost 60 million euros began. The closing price on Friday 15 July, equal to € 0.622, was adjusted to € 0.576, while the initial price of the rights was set at € 0.046.

Italia Independent Group was readmitted to trading. The title suffered a 28.6% thud to 0.42 euros, after some suspensions due to excess of a discount.
