The Mondraker Raze is the Spanish brand’s trail bike: 150mm of front travel, 130mm rear, full carbon frame, forward geometry and perfect for long alpine rides. Or rather, it is the perfect all mountain bike, that is, for long rides pedaled with a lot of altitude and many trails, even challenging ones.
We received the Raze Carbon RR model from DSB Bonandrini, which distributes them in Italy. In the video you can see the details and the test.

Mondraker Raze geometry
The Forward Geometry caused a sensation a few years ago, when it was introduced by Mondraker with the advice of Fabien Barel. It has now been cleared, so much so that the geometry of the Raze can be defined as average, without being extreme.
The size in test is an M, perfect for me who are 179 tall with a crotch (saddle distance – bottom bracket) of 74 cm. In particular, I appreciated the 76.5 ° saddle angle on steep climbs, as it helped me a lot to keep a central position without having to go to the tip of the saddle.
Mondraker Raze in detail
The 150mm of front travel is handled by a massive Fox 36 Factory Grip2 fork. The idea behind this choice is very apt: the front end is what makes the biggest difference when the path becomes technical.
For 130mm of travel at the rear we find a Fox Float DPS, without piggy back, but with a lever for locking in three positions. The suspension system is the Mondraker Zero, which I knew well from the time I tested the Foxy. Sensitive, neutral in pedaling, perhaps a little too linear on the Raze.
The Raze would have the MIND integrated telemetry system, but it never got there because it was faulty and in service. Him except the magnet on the fork. Too bad, it would have been interesting to try it.
The drivetrain is a mix of SRAM Eagle X01 and GX, with a 34 tooth chainring that requires a decent leg.
SRAM G2 brakes. In theory they would also be the right model in the SRAM range, were it not for the fact that they are now famous for slowing the rider down rather than braking him.
Especially in combination with Centerline discs (180 / 180mm) and not the new HS2.
The carterino that protects the shock absorber from the dirt raised by the rear wheel is an excellent idea.
The routing of cables through the headset is very popular lately, but it involves complications in case one wants to change the bearings. In addition, the many plastic pieces require a delicate hand when preloading the headset, otherwise the fluidity is compromised.
Finally, the holes for passing the cables also allow water to pass when it rains or washing the bike, facilitating the oxidation process of the internal parts.
The frame of the Raze is designed for the Fidlock bottle attachment, which aesthetically goes very well with the elegant top tube.
