What is heatstroke?
The elderly and small children are the most at risk this season. This period also does not help in the case of irritable colon, which we can cure with nutrition. Heatstroke, however, is another matter entirely. This is an increase in body temperature above 40 °, caused by the high summer temperatures and the humid heat of this season. The first symptom that should be alarming is the rise in body temperature to 40 ° or above. There may also be nausea and vomiting, redness of the skin, increased breathing and heart rate, dizziness, confusion, weakness, even loss of consciousness.

For all alarmed listening parents, don’t panic. These heatstroke could easily be prevented with a couple of precautions. First of all, it is good to avoid over-dressing children and covering them too much. We have already heard this advice in the pre-birth course and at the pediatrician. Better to prefer light-colored clothes in the sun and keep our children always well hydrated. It is essential to never leave children in a car parked in the sun, even for a short time. But what if it was too late to prevent? What to do in case of heatstroke in children? If the heat stroke is already in progress, a doctor should be contacted immediately and, while waiting, take steps to lower the baby’s body temperature, putting him in the shade and stripping him of excess clothes, passing cold compresses on the head, neck and groin or possibly by spraying water all over the body.
